1918 Australia and the United States: Allies on the Western Front

2008 marks the 90th anniversary of the battle of Le Hamel (4 July, 1918) where Australian and American soldiers went into action together for the first time. This photographic exhibition is drawn from the collection of the Australian War Memorial and focuses on the major battles fought by Americans and Australians side by side during the First World War.

The Waifs

The Waifs have announced USA dates to accompany the release of Sun Dirt Water on March 4, 2008 in the USA and April 28, 2008 in the UK. Their mobile cottage industry of campfire-crafted songs and independently recorded, gold-selling CDs slowly reached critical mass in Australia between '96 and '00, while their captivating on-stage chemistry spilled into a contagious festival following through Europe and North America.
